Sedo set a new record for a “buy now” domain on its SedoMLS system.
There’s a lot of debate about setting fixed prices for your domain names. A reason to set fixed prices, especially when promoting through a distribution service like SedoMLS, is that it removes friction from the buying process and leads to more sales.
Most of the time we’re talking about sales of $5,000 or less. It makes sense for buyers to click the buy button and pull out their credit card.
But Sedo recently had a much bigger buy now sale through a channel partner: $200,000!
While Sedo cannot disclose the name, the company confirmed to Domain Name Wire that it was a Spanish keyword domain name in .com.
Sedo made some big buy now/fast transfer sales through its platform last year as well. Science.org ($49,000), StopTheHate.org ($24,888) and IdealSleaep.com ($24,888) were all sold with the click of a button.
Naranja.com
Idealsleep.com i thought was reported as a Mike Mann sale.
Idealsleap.com is still available for hand reg.
And i thought Frank Shilling sold Naranja.com, as he said on the Sherpa show.
Is “sleap” even a word? Why not also go for idealsleepe.com? DUH.
Sorry about that typo.
StopTheHate.org is also a Mike Mann sale through Sedo.
Naranja.com indeed changed hands and was sold by Schilling.
Thanks…
Been waiting ten days for mls approval on five domains, have received two emails saying they have received my emails but domains, still pending approval in the meantime afternic has sent me twenty emails requesting I list my domains on their premium listing service, don’t understand what is up with Sedo but customer service is next to zero and their visitor stats are a statiscal anomaly.
What annoys me is when you do a search and all you get is .com and zero other options
Is that your real name?
Is that your real name?
Is that your real name?
@Patrick: If a domain at Sedo says “waiting for approval” after you opt it into SedoMLS, it means that the registrar is waiting for confirmation from your end (i.e. the registrant) to approve the listing request. Usually the registrar sends you an email for the approval request, or lists domains pending approval in their account management interface.
Disclaimer: My company consults Sedo with regards to SedoMLS
Thanks, afternic takes about a day till I get a response from my registrar, sedos going on two weeks and still no response.
The Spanish market has been really slow the last couple of years so it’s good to see a big sale like this.
Naranja.com btw means “Orange”
lucky shot! I remember selling a .co.uk for around 100k thru sedo buy now.
