Moniker offers first-year registration for free, but limited to one per customer.
So far, the promotion is being offered by Key-Systems’ registrars Moniker and domaindiscount24.
It’s limited to one per customer, which means we shouldn’t see the same level of questionable registrations we see in other top level domain names when the price is cut to close to zero. If other registrars offer the deal, consumers could snag multiple .shop domains by registering them at multiple registrars.
The offer is only good on regular registrations, not premium ones. And, of course, you have to pay full price when it comes time to renew.
I got one, first good thing moniker has done in years, after so many headaches.
I will park, and hold the bag for a year, and hope some sucker takes the bait.
What’s the name?
I tried 35 possible .shop domains.
23 premium
10 taken
(determined that all 1 word domains are not available – that’s logical )
2 Available (if anyone wants them)
PowerEquipment,shop
DiscountTools.shop
I stopped wasting time after that.
You would have to PAY me to go sign-up at Moniker and register a .SHOP domain.
The changed a lot in the past 2 month. The support is now a lot better
Moniker has improved considerably in the last few months…the support is really good now and they have great new marketing ideas…I´ll get my .shop domain for free 😉
Due to the high demand for the free .shop domains, we implemented a checking mechanism in order to prevent abusive registrations. However, if a valid order is unintentionally affected, please contact our support team to solve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.
name.com was doing 2 free ones per customer earlier today. I picked up the50’s.shop and 60’s-90’s in the same. I only paid for 3 and even those were discounted to $7.99.
Any more registrars offering free .shop registration?
It’s over. When is this offer coming back, any idea?
