Science.org sells for $49,000.
It was a big week for end user domain name sales at Sedo.
American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) paid $49,000 for Science.org, which puts it in the top 30 public .org transactions of all time according to NameBio. Capital One bought a hyphenated domain name and New York Magazine bought a domain name for its new publication.
Here’s a list of end user domain names that were sold through Sedo’s platform over the past week.

Science.org $49,000 – American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). It is forwarding the domain to sciencemag.org.
Aswaq.com $32,000 – The domain name is still in escrow. Is the buyer the owner of AswaqPress.com?
TheStrategist.com $16,000 – The company that runs New York magazine bought TheStrategist.com for its new publication of that name. It sounds kind of like WireCutter, which was just purchased by The New York Times for $30 million.
Oshot.com $8,500 – The buyer is forwarding the domain name to oshot.info, a site that offers a new medical procedure for women.
Feelm.com $7,200 – Feelm, pronounced like Film, is a new site that will help people find movies.

Nudge.ai $3,999 – Nudge is a sales and customer relationship system. It uses the domain name NeedNudge.com.
Public.io $2,999 – I don’t know for sure, but when I google the buyer’s name, I find someone involved with connecting government and tech in the UK.
Balcarce.com €5,750 – The domain name has whois privacy, but it’s forwarding to a cafe/dessert maker that uses the domain name postresbalcarce.com.ar.
CasinoRank.com $4,500 – This domain has whois privacy it’s already a functioning site that ranks online casinos.
CareMotion.com $5,850 – Care Motion offers wheelchairs, power wheelchairs and other mobility solutions.
Aswaq (اسواق) is Arabic.
Means “markets”. Both in the physical sense of an outdoor bazaar (suq) and in the context of economics – e.g. stock market, money market, etc.
$32k was a bargain. Truly.
$49k is cheap for one like science.org.
Perhaps, but it’s one of those cases in which buyers with that much cash for a .org are few and far between.
Nudge.ai $3,999 – Nudge is a sales and customer relationship system. It uses the domain name NeedNudge.com.
This is interesting, shortening domain from longer .com to One word gtld. 4k switch.
I would have gone for Nudge.pro over Nudge.ai. In fact, I did. Mainstream versus technical.
Interesting sale. Some .org is surely valuable in the market. i.e. I think ChinaSpaceStation.org is more valuable than ChinaSpaceStation.com, because Space Station looks more like a organisation.
