20 .NYC domain names will be auctioned on NameJet starting at $500 with no reserves.
.NYC operator Neustar (NYSE:NSR) is holding an auction October 24-27 that includes top .NYC domain names.
20 domain names will be auctioned starting at $500, all without reserves. Eligibility is limited to people that qualify to register .NYC domains, which means it is limited to businesses, organizations and individuals with a physical address in the five boroughs.
The auction will take place on NameJet.
Auctions can be a questionable way to sell premium domain names for top dollar, but I think it makes sense for .NYC. As .NYC landrush auctions proved, there can be a bit of spirited competition between New Yorkers.
I’ll be interested to see how the domain names fare compared to some of those early auctions during which ten domain names sold for over $10,000.
The names being auctioned this time around are arguably much better than the ones sold during landrush, with Apartments.nyc, Condos.nyc, CoOps.nyc and RealEstate.nyc all hitting the auction block.

How can I submit domains for the .nyc auction? I have some one word health related names.

Some already have tons of people ready to bid. This should be interesting.
