.UK domain name is one of the biggest public sales of the year.
The domain name Furniture.co.uk has sold for $650,000.
Buyer Graham Haynes issued a release last week announcing his purchase of the domain name through Sedo domain name broker Dave Evanson.
Haynes’ release said the purchase was $700,000, but I verified the story and found that it was actually $650,000.
Either way, it’s a staggering amount of money for a .uk domain name.
Haynes said he previously purchased BedroomFurniture.co.uk for about $60,000 and it’s now a $7-million-a-year business.
His company also recently purchased Purple.co.uk for £108,000.
Haynes will also get rights to the second level domain name Furniture.uk.
Sure it was $650k plus Sedo fees which were more than $50k
its good to see a good quality .co.uk sell for good money
there are some great .co.uk domain names about
i have a few .co.uk domain names eg county and trade which are great for organic seo etc
i would consider offers on my privacylawyer.co.uk
but have a few legal domains eg barristerqc.co.uk
dashcamlawyer.co.uk etc
but although furniture.co.uk did cost a lot of money it adds value to a business as its impossible to forget the website address plus the free advertising it gives the business because of its high purchase price plus its free organic seo which if it wasn’t industry sector specific would cost big pennies to optimise to first page of google in such a competitive market etc so effectively although it cost a lot of money to acquire it will very quickly end up having cost nothing due to the significant business it will produce over time
Wow, Good on you Graham Haynes it about what it is worth to you rather than the price.
Looking to sell Childrens.co.uk / and related portfolio ChildrensGames &ChildrensToys UK developers
I agree, it’s good to see a guy that see’s the value in a great domain and what it can do for his business.
Maybe they’re gonna sell purple furniture. Good sale!
Price doesn’t seem unreasonable. It’s one of the best terms there is, and a nice name to develop.
Estibot pegs the .com at $5,790,000 and .co.uk is normally worth 10% or so.
10%, sure but also 1% and 20% the gap is huge and based on the word and buyer but generally X%. I see this for the vast majority of geo extensions.
