App maker gets matching .com, company rebrands and buys ccTLDs, and more end user domain name sales.
Sedo handled about a million dollars worth of domain name sales last week.
Some of the end users that bought domains include a company that’s rebranding, a very large job board, and an email marketing company.
Here are some end user domain name purchases at Sedo over the past week:
Welcome.co.uk £10,000 and Welcome.co.nz $5,500 – A company called ChatID has changed its name to Welcome. They connect retailers with brands. CNET owns Welcome.com.
Saily.com $4,500 – the buyer appears to be the marker of the Saily app and owner of Saily.co.
PharmaPeople.com $3,000 – LPC Executive Consultants Pte. Ltd., a headhunting firm that has a pharma practice.
SendLab.com $3,800 – Email marketing company Freshmail Sp. z o.o.
KeyLending.com $9,850 – Key Retirement Solutions, a UK financial servies firm
SmartScoring.com $2,000 – Ocaq Scoring MMC, a company in Azerbaijan
JobSpotter.com $5,895 – Austin, TX based job board company Indeed
XBglobal.com $18,000 – XpressBet, an online gambling company.
ClubNano.com $2,251 – Club Capital Group in Hawaii
FireproofGlass.com $2,995 – RAY-BAR Engineering Corp provides lead glass to shield against x-rays, and apparently fireproof glass, too.
WorkFone.com $2,899 – the whois record is private, but a website at the domain suggests it will be a system to manage multiple phone numbers, businesses, etc. from a single mobile phone. I’ve seen a couple services like this, which cater to individual entrepreneurs like me that have multiple businesses.

I sold BrightEnergy.com $28,000 last week.

Congrats on the sale. I originally assumed it was an end user, but it’s the same company that lost the domain Halifax.com after trying to sell it, so I’m not so sure. Additional info?
AbdulBasit.com says
Thanks Andrew!
They acquired .net before the .com as well.
According to “Andrea Paladini” who posted on my blog “If the buyer of your domain is the same of the .Net, then buyer it’s the “infamous” Diversity Network, from Cardiff, UK, Shelley Roberts and the other guys involved in the “crazy” UDRP case of Halifax.com … where they “bombarded” Bank of Scotland, which owns many TMs for “Halifax”, until they got the UDRP, and rightfully lost it.”
It seems they have plenty of money and if they will try to sell this domain to someone in this business, I wonder if they will make profit from it because the price paid was not a reseller one.
Until couple of days back, it was forwarding to brightenergyservices.co.uk but now the same domain is going to brightenergy.com itself.
Andrew Allemann says
Interesting. I’m also impressed that you held out for this much money 🙂
Andrea Paladini says
AbdulBasit,
Thanks, but I’m simply Andrea Paladini, which is my real name, no need to say “Andrea Paladini” 🙂
You are right, 28k USD is definitely an end user price … I guess their “business”, whatever it is (…) is very profitable … 😉
Andrea Paladini says
Andrew,
You are right, the buyer of BrightEnergy.com is Shelley Roberts, Diversity Network, based in Cardiff, UK, the same guys who lost the Halifax.com UDRP.
What’s more “intriguing” is that, as far as I can see, Diversity Network was somewhat involved in some scams, also to elderly people, with “mysterious” energy companies defrauding clients, here you can find more details: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-24418939 and http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03hchc1
They denied to be involved, but I’m not so sure they are “unrelated” …
And what is now offering BrightEnergy.com on its site? low-cost boilers, which are the same product was offered by some other “shell companies” involved in those scams …
IMHO it’s a fraud scheme …
And Bright Energy, which is allegedly offering plumbing, heating, gas and insulation services, has exactly the same address as Diversity Network … exactly as with the other “ghost companies” involved in those scams (and then liquidated when needed …) …

Congrats Abdul! Is this the sell I read about on namepros?
AbdulBasit.com says
@Andrew Allemann
Thanks yeah. With such tempting offers, we just need to stay focused and remain patient 🙂
@Andrea Paladini
I mentioned your name in quotes to highlight specifically. Surely it will be profitable, else they wouldn’t have paid that price. One thing to note is they had at least couple of yellow bars as their activity index at Sedo which shows they are somewhat regular buyers at least through Sedo.
@thelegendaryjp
Thanks mate!
Correct.

Congrats again, Abdul. We communicated on NamePros about your sale, and you gave me some advice about my own offer via SEDO.
Hope you get many more super sales like this one!

Thanks again Steve 🙂
You’re always welcome dear 🙂

Re. BrightEnergy.com
Selling that domain name for that much money is an awesome sale!! Congratulations on the sale. It’s a good domain name…and good to see domains selling for such a high price!
Ironically, I own a similar domain name: BrightBread.com (but it’s not quite as valuable as bright energy! 🙂

I agree about the value you see for BrightBread. Bright is really a positive word.
Best wishes!
