Vegas? Nah, let’s go to India.
Last month, ICANN VP of Meetings Nicholas Tomasso told community leaders that this October’s meeting in Puerto Rico might be moved to Las Vegas due to Zika virus concerns. Barring that, the only other venues ICANN had identified were in Orlando and Macau.
Apparently they kept looking and have landed on Hyderabad, India instead.
The meeting will be moved from October 29-November 4 to November 3-9. It will take place at Hyderabad International Convention Centre.
Hyderabad is essentially on the other side of the world from Puerto Rico. OK, just 9,000 miles away.
On the plus side, it’s almost 85 degrees Fahrenheit every day in November there.
