Publisher of the L.A. Times paid a lot of cash for LA.com.
In March, I wrote about how Tribune Publishing Company (NYSE:TPUB), publisher of the L.A. Times, acquired the valuable domain name LA.com.
At the time, I wrote “I imagine this was a solid seven-figure sale.”
We now know just how solid of a seven-figure deal it was.
In its most recently quarterly filing with the SEC, Tribune Company revealed that it paid $1.2 million for the domain name.
This seems like a fair price for the “name” of the Unites States’ second largest city.
A coming soon page at LA.com hints that the site will offer @la.com email addresses.
