Heritage Auctions sells over $900,000 in domain names including two big ones.
Heritage Auctions just completed its latest live domain name auction, selling 16 domains for $910,363 including buyers’ premiums. (All prices in this post include buyer’s premium.)
Two of the domain names sold for six figures. Quick.com sold for $299,999 and Blaze.com sold for $253,000.
Three three letter .com domain names sold as well:
WCM.com $48,300
GMK.com $36,800
VVF.com $32,200
Snowboard.com sold for $86,250 and Timeless.com took in $52,900.
Sex.co sold for $63,250.
Another interesting sale was Dot.net at $8,625.
Most of the 42 lots didn’t sell, including 729.com, Tablets.com, Jolt.com and VE.com. These domain names are still available for purchase through negotiation.

Last summer I had an interesting conversation with Aron regarding Blaze.com 🙂
Ryan says
So there was $270,000 in commissions paid on $900K in sales, the house always wins
Nuno says
Without Aron and HA the price could be very different… commissions are well worth paying 🙂
Ryan says
Yes, they would be 30% cheaper
Nuno says
Without that auction the domain owner wouldn’t reach several of those end-users… Worse for the seller and even worse for some buyers that would not bid (and have the chance to acquire) without such visibility.

What is happening with lll.com CHIPS. From an average of 100k they are dropping to about 50k? Will the trend be better or worse in the future you think.
Andrew Allemann says
They’ve fallen, but not as hard as some of the other categories.

DoctorateDegree.com sold for $11,500 on Heritage Auctions back in Dec 2013. I think Aron bought it as whois shows XF.com as owner. I picked it up today for half off. I still like big search/cpc names.
Andrew Allemann says
Aron puts some of his names at risk to stoke the fires, if you will.
Nuno says
Despite the hype against them, big search/cpc names are my favorite ( and I do have numeric, short or brandable names ).
Nuno says
Speaking of keyword domains, Anthony I tried to contact you (allpro) many years ago to acquire one of your names (we were competing on many auctions) but never got a reply.
Tony says
Sorry, Nuno. I mainly sell to end-users and reply to less than 10% of inquiries. The vast majority are time wasters as I’m sure you will agree. You have great taste in domain names I see though.
Jonathan says
So much for the .co values
Nuno says
True, I do the same. However joining forces can bring powerful results in some occasions, you wouldn’t need to sell names to me but to my buyers 🙂
That specific boat has sailed, was more than five years ago for a laptop two words .net domain (I was being offered five figures for some in that category).
Your new degree domain is interesting, an area I know well, even if my main buyer reduced their acquisition spree… I will email you again, eheh.
Tony says
Well noted. Thanks for reaching out, Nuno.
