Take a tour of China.vc, a coffee shop where domainers will feel at home.
The world now has a domain name-themed coffee shop. And where else but domain-hungry China?
This video from ChopChop.domains takes you inside China.vc, where guests sip on coffee and learn about domain name investing. The coffee shop is located in the Haidian district of Beijing. This district alone has 3.2 million inhabitants in the capital city of 22 million, and is known to be a center of innovation and hotbed for startup activity.
It also features interviews with shop founders Mr. DAI Yue 戴跃 and Mr. HUA Lian 华炼. They talk about why domain name investing is hot in China and what they think is on tap for this year.

and coffee 🙂 No broker has every promised me that in the stock market, no risk, big return and coffee.
I do like the idea of engaging with and educating people about domains where they work and am interested in what will happen with these shops.

Hopefully they’ll stay open long enough for me to bumble in and fumble through ordering a cappuccino in Chinese. About 80% of my waking hours are spent in cafes working with domain names, as it is.
Wonder if they accept domains as payment?

He says that .vc is a new gtld. New? No, hahaha, it is the St.Vincent and The Grenadines (small islands in the Caribbean) country code which has been around for ages and ages with no great take-up so far to date. When was the last time you saw a website being advertised on a .vc suffix???. Anyway, guess the Chinese are all new to this. Hope this bubble doesn’t implode leaving all these new Chinese domainers high and dry.

Uuummm a bubble pops eventually…
