Suit by domain investor in China alleges domains stolen from her eNom account.
A Chinese domain name investor has filed a lawsuit (pdf) alleging that three of her domain names were stolen.
Qianqian Jin filed the suit in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia to recover Manhua.com, 5678.com and 26266.com. The suit was filed against the domain names themselves (in rem), as well as what is likely a fictitious name.
Manhua is a term for Chinese comics (similar to manja in Japan). The other domains are valuable because they are high-quality numeric domains.
The plaintiff estimates the value of the domain names is between $250,000 and $1 million.
The domain names are currently registered at Dynadot with private whois records.
Qianqian Jin is represented by Greenberg & Lieberman and ESQwire.com.

We really hope she recovers her domain names.
As our domain “5285.com” was stolen from Enom in December 2015 and transferred to Dynadot as well, then to Ename.com, all in less than 7 days.
The same person/s that took our domain, may also be responsible for this theft as well.
I will be watching this case closely, as I too, will need legal representation to recover our domain.
Wish you Good Luck Qianqian Jin

I can verify Don 5285.com above had his name stolen just this past December from ENOM. I can also recommend that Dynadot should start a 30-60 transfer out on new regs or in coming names like most reputable registrars. The fact Dynadot does not impose this option allowed the stolen name(s) to be quickly transferred back out of Dynadot to a Chinese rar ename.

Thanks for backing me up Josh

No problem Biggie/Don, seems a lot of number domains stolen from Enom lately and a serious lack of security at Dynadot in terms of holding phase for domains brought in, very scary stuff.

Lawsuit was filed “in rem” – the domain itself. As covered at http://domaingang.com/domain-crime/domain-crime-three-more-domains-were-stolen-from-a-chinese-domain-investor/

the 60 days holding period is an requirement from ICANN, if Dynadot doesn’t do that, a complaint to ICANN should help to fix this issue.

@User, when I spoke with Don 8252.com I asked how the thief managed to get it out of Dynadot so quickly, I think he said Dynadot told him it was an option! (If I remember correctly). Seemed odd to me too but… Well thank you User 🙂
