Name not available? Whois searchers will now see if it’s for sale.
EURid is now showing if a domain name is listed for sale at Sedo when someone does a whois lookup, and linking directly to the sale listing.
This is a nifty deal. Keep in mind that full .eu whois records are only available at EURid’s website, so many people use the actual website to look up whois records. Now, if they see the domain is registered, they will be notified that it can still be obtained (see picture below). A couple clicks later, they can make an offer on the domain name.
Because .com domain names have decentralized whois data maintained by each registrar, some people have added “for sale” messages to .com whois records. But this still isn’t as convenient as what Sedo has done with EURid.
EURid has a nice whois interface with extra data that new TLD operators might want to mimmick. For example, you can see the number of whois lookups and which countries they came from.
It will be interesting to see if there is a noticeable uptick in .eu sales thanks to this new Sedo integration.

That is a very good feature, but Eurid should give the registrants a way to show a for sale message (with the same emphasis) when one of their domains is for sale, even if they didn’t add it on Sedo.
That way is just DISCRIMINATION.
Justice D. says
I mean to add something to the registrant’s private area (as you know .eu domains can be managed directly by the registrants at Eurid.eu).

I’m sure they get a commission on Sedo listings.
