Better bulk search and a handy new tool from DomainPunch.
I come across good tools for domainers from time-to-time, and want to pass a couple good ones along to you.
First is NameBright’s bulk availability search. Alan Dunn mentioned this tool in a blog post yesterday, and I gave it a shot.
Most registrars limit you to 100 bulk searches at a time, or 500 if they’re generous. NameBright lets you check up to 5,000 names at a time. Even more importantly, it’s fast. Compared to other registrars, this bulk search is like mashing the pedal on a Tesla in Ludicrous Mode compared to driving a Smart Car. It’s really slick and my new go-to for bulk availability search.
The other tool is a new one from DomainPunch. Domain Lexical Analysis lets you search for keywords in multiple zones. For example, if you type in “baseball”, you’ll get a list of all of the domains that contain start with the word baseball across most top level domains. (It’s limited to 2,000 results per search.) This is a fantastic keyword research tool.

I have used NameBright’s bulk future for two tears now.
Uniregistry has it the same 5,000 but it is slower.
GD has it too, recently. On .com only

Uniregistry’s is good for search across multiple top level domain names.

If you are interested in hosting your own domain portfolio, and have the ability to host a php/mysql app on a server, check out DomainMod, a new open source domain management tool: http://domainmod.org/
I only have a couple hundred domains, but it is the closest thing I have found to easy management across registrars…

I should mention that it doesn’t support all new TLD’s yet, but ping me if you want a patch that adds all the new TLD’s as well as other enhancements like auto whois retrieval and some minimization of the search area

The DomainPunch tool only lists domains starting with your search word not containing.
Andrew Allemann says
You’re correct. I just updated the description.
