eBet buys V68.com and GE buys a financial domain name.
eBet, which bought its eBet.com domain name from Rick Schwartz for $1.35 million, just paid $44,000 to acquire the domain name v68.com at Sedo. It doesn’t resolve yet. Perhaps an additional brand?
v68.com was one of a higher-than-usual 615 domain name transactions taking place at Sedo last week for a total of $1.3 million.
Another notable end user buyer is GE.
Here’s a look at end user domain name sales from the past week:
(You can view previous lists like this here. If you’d like to learn how to sell your domain names like these on Sedo, download this report.)
v68.com $44,000 – eBet, the company that bought eBet.com from Rick Schwartz. I’m not sure what they want to do with it, but it must be some sort of additional brand.
LUUP.com $17,000 – payments processor LUUP Group Limited.
CoinID.com $3,000 – Rhino Loft Pty Tld bought this domain name, and it will be used as a single sign-on for Australian bitcoin owners.
FridayMarket.com $5,000 – The buyer, listed in whois as an individual, has started a classified site for the mid east gulf area.
ZoneDiet.co.uk $995 – Although the whois hasn’t updated to reflect it yet, it appears the buyer is nutritional supplement company Zone Labs.
c2o.fr €1,500 – T-shirt printing company Clothes to Order uses the domain name Clothes2Order.com.
LotterySyndicate.co.uk £4,599 – The Lotter Enterprises Limited, which sells lottery tickets through the site theLotter.com.
Ferries.at €2,229 – Ferries Suisse Sarl in Geneva. .AT is the country code for Austria.
OnlineFoto.de €2,100 – this domain name now forwards to Online-Foto.de. Hyphenated domain names are popular in Germany, but many owners probably end up wanting the unhyphenated version, too.
BCW.co.uk £1,850 – BCW is short for Barcode Warehouse Limited, which sells scanners and other equipment for barcodes.
CantonJunction.com $2,295 – Canton Junction is a gospel band.
Erdinger.co.uk €1,495 – German brewery Erdinger Weissbraeu Franz Brombach forwards this new domain name to Erdinger.de.
NSCAA.org $999 – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America already uses the .com version of this domain.
LatitudeFinancial.com $2,910 – GE bought this domain name. I can’t find a GE finance brand that uses this name yet, but the company has been in the process of divesting some of its financial services assets. This domain name purchase might be related.
RSConnect.com $4,500 – RS Fleet Installations Ltd installs accessories on car fleets.
Dannecker.com €820 – bought by someone in Germany with this last name.
Smenso.com $1,995 – Smart Enterprise Solutions GmbH uses the domain name Smart-Enterprise-Solutions.de. Ouch.
AusFit.com $749 – Ausfit Pty Ltd provides billing solutions to health clubs.
StandForHope.org $3,000 – The Center for Children and Families, a Louisiana group that uses the domain name hopefornela.org.
Albassami.com $1,040 – Albassami International Business Group forwards this domain name to its existing albassami.com.sa website. .SA is the country code for Saudi Arabia.
CloudStore.com $12,500 – this was on last week’s Sedo list but was still in escrow. The buyer is SoftCom, an Ingram Micro company.
It is all about awareness levels. Some companies are ready to pay good price.
Surprisingly, some big companies are reluctant to pay even reasonable prices.
Thanks Andrew for this update, I always look forward to reports like this.
