BuyDomains founder discusses domain names.
My guest today is Mike Mann. Mike Mann founded BuyDomains, built it up to 500,000 domain names, and then sold it to investors. Now he’s at it again with DomainMarket.com. Mike explains how he used technology to find the best domain names and beat competitors in expired domain name auctions. In addition to using “robots” to win auctions, he has also been called the “human robot”.
Find out why on this episode. Also: Cybersquatting lawsuit dropped, WordPress successfully defends UDRP over $100k domain name Thesis.com and Andee Hill joins Donuts.

did mike ever go through bad times in the early days and lose a bunch of good domains? i always wonder if the big guys have always been successful or if they had rough patches on their way to the top.
Thanks for the shout out Andrew!
You bet, good luck in the new role
Andrew ThankYou for rejecting OfficeSpaceSolution’s idea that “buying domain names for the purpose of reselling is cybersquatting”. I agree it simply isn’t true.
Love that guy! His renewal cost is roughly $5200 daily – once a week you see tweet or a sale for $xx,xxx range. He needs to do several of those a week to be at a break even point. It is still a numbers game.
