Uniregistry wins and Moniker loses when it comes to .com domain name transfers in November.
ICANN has published the most recent monthly report from ICANN showing .com transfer wins and losses from November.
Uniregistry had the biggest net inflow of transfers for a public registrar, while Moniker had the biggest net outflow. As bad as the number was for Moniker (23,847 lost to only 3,136 gained), it wasn’t as bad as its October outflow.
Here are the top 5 winners*, measured by net transfers-in (transfer gain minus transfer loss):
1. Uniregistry +10,550
2. eNom +7,922
3. HiChina +6,317
4. OpenProvider +5,684
5. Name.com +5,618
*I’ve ignored registrars that don’t have a public-facing website where the general public can register domain names.
Here are the biggest .com losers from November:
1. Moniker -20,711
2. MelbourneIT -11,176
3. Tucows -10,570
4. Network Solutions -10,233
5. 1&1 -6,636

Except for Tucows, had bad experiences with all of them.

Name.com is great. Still wondering when NetSol will finally die.

Thanks for using name.com! <3

network solutions – horrible service. Uniregistry definitely raised the bar for other players.

I suspect Moniker is headed under 500k over the next couple of years. The are probably in the 700k’s right now. Amazing the CEO is still in her job.

I’m continuing to move my domains away from Moniker. I *love* Uniregistry’s interface and customer service.
Moniker was an unforgivable nightmare–the most incompetent registrar (as a whole) I’ve ever seen. Unless they buy another registrar’s front end and back end systems, I see them going the way of RegisterFly.
Network Solutions is always entertaining. To recieve the auth code immediately, you have to call them. And listen to a sales pitch. And then they always ask, “What can we do to keep your business?”. My answer, “Ummm, not make me call in for an auth code? That seems like a good start.”.

1&1 does not allow to manually renew a domain name, I removed all of my domains from them for this reason.
