A couple geo domain names are among this week’s new TLD launches.
I usually don’t write about landrush phases, but .Space has a landrush this week that is rather unique. It starts today, lasts just one week, and most registrars have it priced at or near the cost of the domain name when it hits general availability. 101Domain, for example, is charging only $10.99 for a .space domain in landrush, the same price as it will ask next week when it hits general availability.
On Tuesday, two geo domain names for Belgium launch: .Brussels and .Vlaanderen. .Vlaanderen is for the Dutch-speaking northern portion of Belgium, referred to in English as Flanders.
Rightside’s .ForSale exits the early access phase and heads to general availability on Wednesday. This domain name is good for basically anything that can be sold, which includes real estate listings.
Rightside also launches two domain names in EAP: .Band and .RIP. The former joins other music related TLDs such as .hiphop and .country. .RIP is an interesting one. It could work if bundled with some sort of tribute site builder or service. Otherwise, I can’t see people buying a .rip domain name to create a tribute to a lost loved one. There certainly won’t be much of a rush for this domain name. It will have to grow organically over time.

everyone has already left the building, and the domain industry is pretty much officially dead now and they are still releasing new ltd’s.
Will it ever stop? There is APPARENTLY no end to stupid corporate domain industry greed. I mean ppl are even tired of reading about this. I myself have dropped over a 1,000 domains in just the last 2 months and will likely never register another .anything, just in protest. I mean enough-tld- bullsh*t-already!!!!

We thought of applying for .RIP, but we were worried about the renewal rate.
