Two Heineken breweries among end user domain name buyers.
I was too busy eating turkey last week to do the end user sales report, so I’m publishing this a week late.
Sedo closed $1.2 million worth of domain name transactions the week-before-last, including a number of end user domain name sales. Two breweries in Africa that have been acquired by Heineken bought domain names. Also note the sales of .host and .club domains.
Here’s the list of some of the week’s end user sales at the Sedo marketplace:
EMH.com 15,000 EUR – European Media Holding GmbH – this investment group did the smart thing by investing in a three character domain name. They got a great deal on it, too.
Positive.co.uk 10,000 GBP – Positive Technology, a UK advertising firm, upgraded its domain name from positive-digital.co.uk. That’s a lot of money for a .uk domain name.
Orcai.com $2,000 – Ribose, an online collaboration company based in Hong Kong. I’m not sure what they plan to use the domain name for.
Watcha.com $20,000 – this appears to be an app made by a company called Frograms.
Drop.co $17,000 – the domain was registered to Andrey Zaytsev. According to his LinkedIn page, he recently left Groupon to work on a healthcare startup. I’m not sure if this domain is for that venture.
YourBill.co.uk 1,000 GBP – Yourbill Ltd, which owns the matching .com. It seems that the company hasn’t launched yet.
Gear.Host 2,500 EUR – Cloud hosting company GearHost, which uses GearHost.com.
Printing.club $2,500 – ThinkPrint, a printing wholesaler.
InsanityWorkout.com $1,199 – Beachbody, LLC, maker of the Insanity Workout DVDs.
HararBrewery.com $2,710 – Harar Brewery, owned by Heineken.
BedeleBrewery.com $2,710 – Bedele Brewery, also owned by Heineken.
LeadByte.com 1,000 GBP – Leadbyte Limited, a lead management service that uses the matching .co.uk domain name.
Ola.mobi $15,000 – Olamobile Cyprus Limited, a mobile marketing firm.
DiamondJeweller.com $4,000 – the owher of DiamonJewellers.com (plural).
FlightMonkey.com $3,375 – FlightPlanMonkey LLC, a travel site that uses the unfortunate domain name FPMnky.com.
AltConsulting.com $700 – Ottawa IT support and consulting company AltConsulting. It uses the hyphenated domain name Alt-Consulting.com.
EmailDesign.com 3,000 EUR – email marketing firm MailChimp.
MaxCargo.com $1,000 – AIRMAX Cargo Budapest Zrt., a cargo shipping and logistics company.
Everything.org $35,000- it’s not clear what the New Zealand man who bought this domain name plans to do with it, but it is certainly an end user purchase at this price.
OldSouthernBBQ.com $2,849 – Dave Anderson, “America’s Rib King”.
EyeSore.com $1,750 – Eyesore, Inc., a web and app developer, shortened its web address from EyeSoreInc.com.
GlobalTeam.com 4,000 EUR – Global Only, which offers “Global Teamwork and Collaboration” technology. I like GlobalTeam.com better.
eLAWmentary.com $1,000 – TorHoerman Law Firm, which sues drug and medical device firms. A clever domain name, although I don’t know if people will understand it when they hear it for the first time.
