Athlon.com leads Sedo’s end user domain name sales.
Sedo sold about $1.2 million worth of domain names last week, highlighted by the six figure sale of Athlon.com.
Athlon.com is still in escrow, but I have a pretty good idea who the buyer is.
One other sale was notable not because of the dollar value, but because the sale was a trademark-matching domain for a $14.6 billion publicly traded company.
The end user list is below.

Athlon.com $100,000 – this is an interesting one. It looks like the domain was sold by a business consultancy called Athlon. A note at Athlon.com mentions that it is changing its web address to athloncommunications.com. As for the buyer, Google results for “athlon” are mainly for AthlonSports.com. This is one of those classic cases where a seller is using a domain but comes up with a price at which they’re willing to go through the hassle of changing domain names.
MyRating.co.uk 800 EUR – a company called Reportech Financial Limited in the UK. I think it’s some sort of financial/credit ratings company.
LSip.com $8,500 – Lightspeed Venture Partners, a venture capital firm.
TheGiftCardShop.com $1,695 – Gift Card Impressions, LLC in Kansas.
FutureUAE.com $3,395 – Future Center for Advanced Research & Studies in Abu Dhabi. They look like a think tank.
Nickel.co $5,000 – Nickel Labs, a startup that hints that it will provide financial education to teenagers. They have been using the domain name nickel.inc.
PowerSeven.com $5,000 – Power Presentations, Ltd., a presentation/speaking coach service.
RockwellAutomation.kr $1,000 – $14.6 billion (market cap) manufacturing automation company Rockwell Automation.
MandUs.com $1,300 – CitizenHawk bought this on behalf of Mars, maker of M&Ms candies.
Veolia.com.co $1,5000 – Veolia Environnement, a French company. This is the original Colombia third level domain; they already own the second level .co domain.
MoyaGreene.com 3,500 EUR – this domain name was bought on behalf of Moya Greene, current CEO of Royal Mail.
