These ten domain names strike me as fairly priced for the right buyer.
Heritage Auctions holds its next domain name auction on Thursday, July 24.
It’s getting quit a bit of press around this auction, thanks in part to the Bitcoins.com domain name. There’s a $750,000 reserve on that one. It will be interesting to see if someone steps up to the plate.
Whether or not it sells, the press will shine some light on other good domain names in the auction. Here are ones I like at the reserve prices:
SEM.com $290,000 – the price tag is steep, but Search Engine Marketing is a big business. This three letter domain name is worth the price to an SEM company.
Moped.com $60,000 – I struggle with this one a bit. Do people still call them mopeds or do they say scooter? Is the plural better?
Bristol.com $35,000 – part of a large pharma company name (Bristol-Myers Squibb), the name of a big town in England and a famous raceway. Lots of potential buyers for this one.
DWI.org $15,000 – .Org works with this domain name.
Bitcoin.club $10,000 – it’s hard to set a value on .club domain names. But this is just 16 bitcoins.
Downline.com $8,500 – this one has been for sale for many years and has been offered in a previous HA auction. I believe the MLM industry still uses this term, and the price is right. The reserve is lower than in the first HA auction.
GemMint.com $5,000 – a popular sportscard term that should play well with Heritage Auctions’ crowd.
AntiqueGallery.com $3,000 – many antique galleries use the term in their company and/or domain name. This a deal for any of the larger ones.
MintCondition.com $2,000 – wow, a great one for the collectables market. From the “too good to be true” department, this domain was added to the auction in error.
CoinStores.com $500 – a small price to create a directory of coin dealers.

You’re doing it wrong. You have to add in the buyers premium. That is more than 10%. Redo it with that built in and see if you feel the same way. Not saying that these aren’t worth those prices, they’re great names. I have my eye on two of them as well but I’m used to seller paying not seller and buyer

That’s a good point and it’s actually 15%, not 10%. I’d still pick these domains, but it’s certainly something to keep in mind when bidding.

Bristol is also a town in Connecticut and the Home of ESPN

Moped.com was a private messaging startup a couple of years ago. Received 1 million in funding. The original owner of the domain was on Namepros deciding whether or not to sell the domain for $35,000 to this startup. It sold. He still has Mopeds.com which is worth much more than the singular. The singular only works as a brand while the plural works for actually selling mopeds. The only problem is they don’t call them mopeds anymore and now call them scooters. Won’t meet reserve and will probably have a high bid of no more than $20,000.
MintCondition.com is a steal at $2,000. Hell it’s a steal at $5,000.
Bristol.com is a great domain. As Mike pointed out it’s a town in Conneticut and also a big racing town in Tennessee. Nascar and NHRA drag racing is huge there. Will easily hit reserve.
SEM.com is way overpriced. Won’t even reach half of reserve.
AntiqueGallery.com will sell at this auction for that price. The majority of HA’s buyers are buyers of antiques and that is the only reason this will sell.
Coinstores.com will sell because there is always some fool who thinks it’s a great deal because it’s only 500 bucks.
GemMint.com won’t meet reserve.
DWI.org may meet reserve.
Downline.com won’t meet reserve
Bitcoin.club for $10,000 is laughable. Maybe a couple grand if their lucky.

Your assessment of what’s likely to sell seems pretty spot on.
