Event for women in the domain name business will be held Monday afternoon.
Women in Domaining, one of the mainstays of the annual Domainfest/Webfest conference in Santa Monica, will be making an appearance at next week’s NamesCon conference.
Although I have (of course) never attended the event, I think this is great for an industry dominated by men. I highly encourage any women going to the conference to stop in at this event.
The event will take place Monday, January 13 from 3-7. The first half will be for networking and the second half will be a Texas Hold’em tournament (and tutorial). Information and RSVP details are online here.
Kudos to the eight sponsors supporting this event: .co, Igloo, eNom, EscrowHill.com, Endurance International Group, Moniker, DomainTools, and Uniregistry.

I think that is incredibly sexist!!!
As such, I say say there ought to be a similar event for men only….we could have strippers.

It’s a great event. I may be wrong but I believe it started out as an alternative to the Playboy club type parties. Now the female domainer parties has more pretty/smart girls than the events we are going to.
Andrew Allemann says
How do you know it’s such a great event? I thought that was you sneaking in with a wig!
shanecultra says
Think about it. A whole room of smart, driven women. I’m married but I’m not dead

The Women in Domaining events are definitely fun! It’s amazing to me how many ladies we have attending them and in general involved with the domaining industry.
I can’t wait to catch up with everyone!
