.Buzz registry makes website for sharing during next week’s ICANN conference in Buenos Aires.
The domain name industry pilgrimage to Buenos Aires for ICANN #48 begins later this week. There’s a lot more
excitement buzz in the air this time around as new TLD applicants can finally see the endpoint (or is it the starting point?).
One of the registries making the trek is DotStrategy, which will be rolling out the .buzz domain name next year. The company has put together a resource at ICANNBuzz.com that I think will be handy for those attending the meeting.
ICANNBuzz will collate social media activity and photos from the event. There are tabs for tweets from registries and registrars, as well as a calendar of social events. The company will also give digital cameras to “worker bees” (a.k.a. volunteers) who snap photos of ICANN events.
For those (including me) that won’t be at the meeting, this will be a good resource to track what’s going on.
Will .Buzz be any more successful than .Biz?
If people start thinking about their BRAND when developing their web presence, I think .buzz would be much more desirable than .biz or .com. When I travel, I can go to yelp or newyork.buzz and get my info. I would think the later could be developed to be much more current and buzz- filled. Which is what I’m looking for.
