Stalking horse bidder will walk away with valuable domain name Servers.com.
Last month I wrote about how the Servers.com domain name was headed for sale in a bankruptcy auction.
There was a stalking horse bid of $300,000, and no other parties submitted an interest in the domain name, so the domain name will sell for $300,000 subject to court approval.
The buyer listed on the original court document is XBT Holdings Ltd.
I can’t find an exact match for that name when searching, but XBT Holding Ltd (singular “Holding”) is a company in the webhosting business, so that’s probably the buyer. (Update 12/2/13: it is the buyer.)
XBT has been busy acquiring webhosting companies. As a result, it manages a lot of servers. The company boasts that it doubled it servers from 8,000 to 16,000 last year.
The domain name Server.com (singular) sold for $770,000 back in 2009.
