New top level domain contracts are slowly (but surely) being executed.
ICANN’s latest new top level domain name contracting stats show that 56 registry agreements have been signed. 55 of those have been published to ICANN’s registry page.
Here’s a look at some of the stats so far:
32: The number of contracts signed by Donuts, which had more applications than any other company.
13: The number of contracts for internationalized domain names, despite all IDNs being prioritized ahead of ASCII strings in the process
2: The number of contracts signed by each of Afilias, Uniregistry, CORE, and TLD Registry Ltd. That’s the most signed by anyone other than Donuts. [Update: Afilias has actually signed 3]
1: The number of contracts signed by Google
564: the number of applications invited to contracting to date.
Hi Andrew,
I think you missed one from Afilias. I believe they are at 3 with 移动, kim, and
pink.
Zodiac has two contracts signed as well – 集团 and 我爱你 .
-Nic
Thanks, I missed Afilias’ IDN. Zodiac must be using different corporate entities, which is why I overlooked that one.
I imagine .我爱你 becoming a new fad in China among teens to express love, something like 玛丽.我爱你 (Mary, I love you).
Cute!
Which gTLDs do Uniregistry’s two contracts cover?
