Valuable Vanity.com domain name changes hands as a result of lawsuit.
The owners of Vanity.com have settled a legal dispute with Vanity Shop of Grand Forks, resulting in a transfer of the domain name to the clothing company.
In June 2012, National Arbitration Forum panelist Nelson A. Diaz made a shocking decision in favor of complainant Vanity Shop in a UDRP for the domain name. After the decision was handed down, Vanity.com, Inc. filed a lawsuit to halt the transfer.
That kicked off a long (and surely expensive) legal process that finally resulted in a settlement last month. Details of the settlement are confidential, but part of the deal involved Vanity Shop getting the domain name.
Update: Vanity.com Inc provided this information to Domain Name Wire:
This was a David and Goliath case where the playing field was not equal so I had no further options but to settle on the settlement offer. I want to help others who are in a similar situation, so email me at jolynn (at) vaingo.com for valuable insight.
It sounds like it was pretty.

Was the domain name offered to evanity.com for US$1 million? I certainly like to know the settlement.
