Defensive domains related to new killer whale documentary registered.
A documentary about a killer whale that killed a SeaWorld trainer is gaining broad exposure after it premiered at Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
“Blackfish” has been picked up by Magnolia Pictures for wider release, and will be in UK and Irish cinemas later this month.
Did SeaWorld just prepare its online defense?
A Mark Monitor client has registered the domain names BlackfishFacts.com, BlackfishTruth.com, and Thetruthaboutblackfish.com (along with other top level domain extensions). The domains use Mark Monitor’s version of whois privacy to conceal the owner’s information.
This is the type of domain name a company will register to protect its brand or tell its side of the story.
Guess who SeaWorld uses to register its domain names? Yep, Mark Monitor.
That is SO cute and LAME at the same time, EXACTLY like scientology proceeds: http://www.whatisscientology.org/ and http://www.authenticscientology.org/ I’m beginning to think that $eaWorld is just another money-making branch of scientology…
