Meetings to be held at Durban conference.
ICANN has published agendas for three upcoming board-related meetings taking place in conjunction with the ICANN meeting in Durban.
The New gTLD Program Committee will have two meetings in conjunction with the conference.
The first, held July 13, will cover Funding Objections, CRM system, Ombudsman letters, and IGO protections and Category 1 advice.
This will be closely watched by new TLD applicants.
The Ombudsman letters probably have to do with complaints brought to the ICANN ombudsman regarding new TLD objections. Ombudsman Chris LaHatte determined that it wasn’t fair that an objection filed against .gay by GOProud was not accepted, and he also weighed in on “late” objections.
IGO protections in top level domains will also have a sizeable impact on new TLD applicants.
The second New gTLD Program Committee meeting on July 17 will discuss Tuesday’s NGPC-GAC dialogue.
The July 18 Board meeting will cover:
-Redelegation of .ID
-Redelegation of .EE
-Delegation of .мон
-Appointment of Jonne Soininen to ICANN Board Committees
-Competition, Consumer Trust and Choice Metrics for the New gTLD Program per the AoC Review
-Singapore Office Lease
-Approval of RSSAC Membership
The Board Governance Committee is also going to consider DotConnect Africa’s reconsideration request.
