Privacy policy explains that it may release your personal information to Google.
Sedo sent a notice to its parking customers today to inform them that it has updated its privacy policy.
The company has added a line to its policy that states:
It may be necessary to disclose your stored information, such as first and last name, company name, address, email and/or phone number, to relevant domain monetization advertising partners for the purpose of providing you such services.
While the “partners” are not named, this change is due to new requirements by Google for its domain parking program. Google is trying to monitor parking clients across multiple parking services that use Google’s advertising feeds.
The changes affect all Google parking services, not just Sedo. In March, Internet Traffic implemented a couple changes related to Google’s new programs.

It’s a spoof email!
See my post on namepros:

I asked the mods to move the thread to the correct section. I was nearly taken in by this spoof–it’s really well-written.
Beware!

Ms, thanks for sharing!

It’s not a joke. It’s in their privacy policy here:

Keep in mind that all Google partners have similar arrangements with Google.

Hi everyone,
As Andrew mentions above, this email was in reference to an update to our Privacy Policy.
This update was necessary because of new requirements from our primary advertising provider. These new requirements affect a number of domain parking services, not only Sedo’s.
If you have any questions about the updates, feel free to contact our Customer Care team.
Thanks,
Daniel @ Sedo

Unfortunately, it IS true. Sedo verified this change in an email to me.
I emailed support, and they verified it.

Hi, got this reply after emailing them …
“Thank you for your e-mail.
We have taken notice of your wish to opt out of our terms and will not transmit your data to our advertising providers.
Please note that this will have a negative impact on your parking earnings, as ads from our primary advertising providers will stop being displayed on your parked pages.
You have the option to opt in at a later point by going through the Parking Premium Certification process Link.
Feel free to contact me if you have any further question.”

@ ILovedomains – in other words you just opted out of monetizing with Google. Note that every Google parking provider has to agree to this.

We are Google.
You Will be Assimilated.
Resistance is Futile.
Sieg Heil Mein Google!

Sedo can not even deliver relevant ads on my parked domains. NONE of them. And they want to send that data to Google? For what? Its incorrect the begin with.
