See what’s hot in domain name registrations with this neat tool.
Matt Mazur just released a killer tool on his Lean Domain Search: Domain Trends.
The tool lets you type in any keyword and it will pull up domain registrations by date that include that keyword.
Not only does it show a chart with the number of domains registered each day that include the term, but if you click on a chart point you can quickly see all of the domains registered on that specific day.
Here’s the chart for the term “hurricane”:
That big spike around the beginning of November is thanks to Hurricane/SuperStorm Sandy.
The first two spikes appear to be people registering 2012 hurricane season names in advance.
You can also choose any date to see popular trends in domain names registered that day.
For example, the report for last Friday shows 72 domain registrations including “ieye”.
That doesn’t necessarily make it a trend since one person registered most of the domains, but I’m sure you get the point. One popular term over the weekend was Vine, no doubt thanks in part to Twitter launching Vine.
Real nice site! May come handy sometimes.
Cool tools…thanks for mentioning.
