Afternic offers domain names through HiChina.
Afternic announced a deal today with HiChina, China’s largest domain name registrar.
HiChina is the company’s fourth partner in China for AfternicDLS. This means that customers searching for domain names at HiChina will also be able to purchase domain names from the Afternic platform. Sales occur in real time with instant transfer of the domain name to the buyer.
Afternic has seen quite a bit of expansion in European markets, and this a key win for the Asian market. Afternic’s inventory remains very much English language .com, .net, and .org domains, though — something that will likely change in the future as it signs up more partners outside this mold.
Wonderful. Now we get to compete with millions more domains *as well as* the 2+ millions “BUY DOMAINS” domains which we all know is part of Afternic.
The Afternic of old is gone many years now. This newer Afternic stinks and has done so since Buydomains bought them and left them for dead in 2006 or so.
Oh well. Competition is good for all of us however. 😉
@Mike – this is a distribution agreement so the domains that you list on Afternic will now be promoted to the Hi China audience.
“I just checked and my domains are on the Hi China site, love it! Been selling a lot more domains on Afternic over the past year. Keep it up guys!”
