Spinning the wheel in UDRP roulette.
SMA Solar Technology AG has filed a UDRP case with World Intellectual Property Organization for the domain name SMA.com.
SMA.com belongs to Specialized Micro Architects. It was originally registered in 1995 and currently has an expiration date of 2017. The oldest whois record at Domain Tools shows that Specialized Micro Architects has owned the domain since at least 2001, although it may have been the original registrant.
The most recent content capture at Archive.org dates to 2001.
It’s no wonder that SMA Solar Technology wants the domain. It’s current web address is SMA.de.
One possibility is that it has been trying to reach the owner of SMA.com about buying the domain but hasn’t had luck, so it filed the UDRP as a last resort. I tried calling the phone number on the whois record but the call didn’t go through. I also sent an email. It hasn’t bounced (yet).
Any competent UDRP panel will find against SMA Solar Technology.
Oh I love mystery’s and having done a bit of research I believe I know who owns the domain, and its not who you would think in month of sundays. Will see if can contact someone that gives a damn (as they may not).
Well I followed a few trails and only thing I have found out it guys name is Michael Platco and the phone number in whois relates to BTZ llc but doesnt work . Also found this http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,4605093
and that has different phone number. One longshot is guy that owns sanfrancisco_com owns sma.com but not certain. One other possible owner is Boeing via a subsidiary in VA. Anyway if anyone knows Michael Platco maybe they will ask him.
Wasn;t all that hard…
Found last server change date (not too old btw), then I found his service provider to narrow down a geo location and then searched his name and info for that locations and baam!
Will I notify him, no, sorry emailed him in the past with no reply. The point I made was in a matter of 12 minutes I could present an offer, how this company couldnt I have no idea.

Just because you wanted to buy one or more of his domains in the past and he wasn’t interested in selling, you would not help him now. (I seriously doubt you could help him anyway.)
It is surprising how the domain category has slowly moved away from a ‘buddy atmosphere’ to ‘dog eat dog’.
lol.. sounds like those Germans have been hanging out with “the boys from Brazil” to often! 😉
