Manage your old Parked.com and WhyPark accounts in one interface.
Earlier this month WhyPark announced it was changing its name to DomainApps. The name change made since, especially since the company had been acquired by Parked.com a couple years ago. WhyPark is kind of a derogatory term to parking companies, after all.
But Parked.com clients were surprised to see Parked.com basically disappear yesterday.
Sure, the face of the company — Donny Simonton — had left. But now Parked is gone?
It’s gone, sort of. Parked customers can now manage and park their domains in the DomainApps interface.
After you login to DomainApps.com with your WhyPark credentials, you complete a multi-step transition process. Step two of the process is importing any domains that were part of your Parked account.
Don’t worry — all of your parking stats are migrated into the new account and you don’t lose anything.

Sad that I have to read about this here and not directly from Parked.com.
Did they loose my email address?
Did they think it was wise to just shut down and not tell their customers?
Crazy.
TERRIBLE branding transition but domainapps.com looks good and whypark people are great so I wish them well.

Agree with rob sequin. Not sure where I will move my domains. They haven’t been exactly making huge profits at Parked, not that parking is great anywhere but to not inform me doesn’t make we want to continue with their new venture.

I don’t think they should have ever killed Parked.com . Very bad decision.
This reminds me of the bad Netflix branding decision of 2011.
We’ve all become very familiar with the Parked.com system and now we are told to use a new one that is totally different.
Even if the payouts were poor, they were still Parked.com, and had a reputation of great service, clean interface, super fast, etc.. Now it feels like they want me to do business with something new like DevHub.com , which sucks. I’m just not happy with this new idea.
It’s a real downer to me and I’m sad to see Parked gone. Don’t like this switch at all.

The people over there have never communicated well.
Will they be migrated all Parked.com accounts over and sending out an email to name owners without us having to be Marvin The Mind Reader?
I plan on going to all For Sale Pages eventually anyway. I’m done with Parked Pages with ads.

“Parked customers can now manage and park their domains in the DomainApps interface.”
How hard would that have been to put that sentence on the home page of Parked.com instead of providing an email address they never replied back to yet?
A simple email to customers to let them know what is going on?
Really? I wouldn’t touch this company with this kind of communication.

What the hell?
This is possibly the lamest, most customer-unfriendly move this side of the domainersphere (at least since Halvarezgate).
FarmerJohn says
Also Andrew, you don’t make it clear —
What if someone had a Parked account, but no WhyPark “credentials” ?
Fred says
I must have missed the blog entry on Donny leaving Parked. When did he leave and where did he go?
DnameBob says
Donny is at voodoo.com but is that just a front for the parked folks or a whole new company? A google search makes it seem like a front – especially since Parked bought the domain name last year and Parked’s lawyer has the first address on the business form. Any idea Andrew – the Parked guys are your advertising pals and so is Donny. You had surprisingly little to say on this.
Diana says
Same question as FarmerJohn.
I got to know the change today, and I have a Parked account, but no WhyPark “credentials” ! No DomainApps.com account.
