Quidsi’s latest store is likely Casa.com.
Amazon.com’s Quidsi, which runs Diapers.com, Soap.com, Wag.com, and YoYo.com, appears to be working on something new: Casa.com.
The domain name was just transferred to Amazon.com after being protected by whois privacy for years.
If you visit the domain you get a message:
You have reached an invalid location. Maybe you are looking for http://www.diapers.com, http://www.soap.com, http://www.beautybar.com, http://www.wag.com …
The nameservers on the site just changed today as well, from BlueHost.com to NETRIPLEX.COM. Netriplex.com hosts Quidsi’s other stores.
Another clue: a LinkedIn profile that shows someone as “Merchandising Associate for Casa.com at Quidsi Inc.”
So what will Casa.com be? Based on the company’s other sites, my guess is either a home furnishings or home accessories site.
the latino market is completey overlooked by white america this shows that quidsi does its market reseach before any launching.
it also shows why everybody else is stupid as to the power of domainnames.
I doubt they’re targeting the Latino market. I think ‘casa’ is one of those universal terms that people now.
Casa means the same in Italian / Spanish: A very expensive domain buy 4 sure.
Hi. Popularity of a word before expansion plays large role in delivery by search engines. An example: http://www.ears.su/ – ears – popularity of a word. Thks
