Where to find the cheapest .xxx domain pricing

.XXX domain names become available early next week. But you need to reserve now to get the good ones.

If you want to register .xxx domain names then you better get your act together.

General availability starts December 6. But to get the best domains you’ll need to pre-reserve them with a registrar. They will then submit the registration the moment the registry opens December 6. Many registrars have a pre-registration deadline of December 5.

I expect lots of attention to the opening of .xxx thanks in part to ICM Registry’s huge www.Buy.xxx campaign backed by lots of advertising and TV commercials.

There are two types of registrations: normal and non-resolving. Normal registrations are only open to “members of the adult community”. Non-resolving domains are for anyone who wants to block their domain from being registered. Registration fees are the same for both.

Here are some other things to keep in mind:

1. Some registrars are using their backordering systems to process orders. Moniker is using SnapNames and NameScout is using Pool. One advantage is you don’t pay unless they get the domain. You also get to take advantage of their technology.

2. Many registrars charge up front and then refund your money if you don’t get the domain.

3. You should order high value domains at multiple registrars to increase your chances of getting the domains. It might be worth paying a higher registration fee at a registrar that has been successful in previous rushes. I know DomainMonster.com had great success when .co opened.

4. Some registrars may offer bulk pricing that is not represented in the chart below.
