No joke: Go Daddy girl to protest alongside PETA in defense of circus elephants.
How’s this for irony: fitness guru and GoDaddy Girl Jillian Michaels is joining with PETA to protest Ringling Bros. circus and its treatment of elephants.
I’m not kidding.
In case you aren’t familiar with the story, GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons shot an elephant in Africa this year. It’s not the first time he’s done it, but the story went viral this time and a number of people said they would boycott the domain name registrar because of the incident.
PETA — the organization Jillian Michaels is teaming up with — transferred its domain names out of GoDaddy because of the incident. Parsons calls PETA hypocritical.
Christie says
I saw this! The Bob Parsons situation was the first thing I thought of as well.

@ Christie – nice find. I’m sure someone could have fun photoshopping that picture.

Bob could have saved himself some time by staying home and shooting himself in the foot.

I would believe her more if she voted with her feet and withdrew as spokesbimbo for GD.

George says
Well, there’s a difference between hunting/killing an animal and to pen/torture an animal…
Bob says
@George, there is a difference in the same way as there is a difference between murdering someone and torturing someone, both are equally evil, but they are different.
Killing and innocent animal and keeping them locked up to perform tricks are different but neither are right.
Joe says
Yes… because shooting a ferocious elephant with a rifle from 100 yards away while he calmly eats or tends to her young, is so much better than chaining them up and hitting them. You’re really going to make the argument that hunting was okay? We’re not talking hunting a bear with a knife because you’re hungry and cold. It’s some rich guy who paid someone to fly him there, point to where the elephants were, and say… pick one and shoot.
Poor Uncle says
Is she going to take off her clothes in protest? PETA girls love to take off clothes in protest. I am all for it. Very convincing indeed. Let’s make love, not war.

For an extra fee, they’ll ship them to your door in a cage and you can shoot them there. But then George would be upset about the cage.
Steve M says
O.K., O.K., so what’s worse:
1. Beating an elephant?
or
2. Eating an elephant?
Bob … Jillian … what say you?
And Jillian, would you be a spokesperson for elephant beaters? No!?
Than why are you for elephant killers?
