I track domain name registration by Google, and sometimes I catch on to things before they happen.
But some recent registrations by Google have me baffled. Take a look and let me know if you have any insight.
GoogleAntarctica.com – I suppose if you’re going to be global you have to cater to all seven continents.
GoogleEscrow.com – Google to compete with Escrow.com? Doubt it. It was registered by someone else previously so this may have been a trademark grab.
GoogleIDN.com – Interesting domain for IDNs. Was registered by someone else previously.
GoogleTLDs.com – Another interesting registration that would appear related to new top level domains. But I doubt it.
Hello Andrew,
Our guess abbout Antarctica would be a narrative about how Google is concerned about Global Warming, and would possibly spearhead a Goodwill initiative.

Google Antartica, maybe a Google StreetView version of Antartica for Google Maps.
