Google to start syndicating more ad data to parking companies.
In one what could prove to be a major move for Google Adsense for Domains partners, NameDrive will begin showing site links and site reviews with some of its parked page links.
These options have already been offered to Google Adwords advertisers on Google.com for a while.
Here’s an example of an ad including additional “site links”:
And an example that includes a site review:
You’ve probably seen product ads on Google.com that also include pictures. Could those be far behind? Will Google Adsense for Content on regular web sites also start syndicating ads like this in the future?
It would certainly make sense. Google has been testing this ad style for a while and wouldn’t start syndicating it if it didn’t work.

Hello Andrew,
Underlying Market Forces are directing Google and others to be sensible ! Gee I wonder WHY ???

What I keep noticing is that both Google and Bing are quite often taking the first ad position on parked domains, thus pushing the surfers to their sites, training surfers to not use direct navigation, and also only paying a couple of cents per click.
Now they are blatantly trying to destroy the domain parking market.
Andrew Allemann says
@ Tim – what are they doing with that ad position? I don’t know that I’ve seen that.
Tim says
Andrew….type in Zipcode.com and click the first link and you’ll see Google has control of that position.
They are sucking the life out of our domains.
Andrew Allemann says
@ Tim – I see what you’re saying.
In “theory” Google has to bid on that term just like every one else. But…
S. W. says
@Tim
I typed in Zipcode.com and the first link on Google led me to Zipcode.com which seems to be parked at the moment.
At least that domain is still listed, my parked generic (Namedrive) is nowhere to be found on Google, but at least it’s getting 98% type-in traffic per usual.
Tim says
@ S.W. I did not mean for you to type it into Google like noobs do. 🙂
I meant type in your browser bar type Zipcode.com, then click on the first category, Zip Code Lookup and you will see Google has taken the first link.
Total bullsh*t stealing of our traffic instead of it going to legitimate advertisers.
Google wants to be the search engine and the content too…..total fuc*ing conflict of interest.

Hello Guys,
We are 4 steps ahead of Google, on a cotinual basis, and will out market and out manuever them when the time is right. They think they are Masters of marketing when really they are just starting a chess game they will lose. Underlying Market Forces will bring them to their kness.

The lack of transparency in the domain name industry should be enough to make anyone shudder. Large parking companies, not to mention Google and others as well, get away with murder. Domainers know little to nothing about the numbers and DONT DARE ASK anyone, my God…
Mike Flynn says
C’mon guys, parking domains is a dead duck, and has been for years. The reason, no-one wants these parked pages, it’s really just a wasted click. I redid a parking test run of my domains: just made £5.14 from 3 days parking 500 or so domains; £5.14 from 2464 page impressions is £2.08 per thousand. So, simple, I just need to put my own stuff on they sites. My half dozen test sites average £40 eCPM whilst only costing a few quid to put together. I gotta focus on developing the 500, then everyone’s happy..except the parking companies and the domainers who ain’t able. Since I ain’t gonna get rich on £10 a week I just put back up my pretty pictures for time being whilst i organise some more content.
Tim says
@ Mike……that’s not true, parked domains do convert to sales, better than Google in many cases.
It’s been proven many times over, even by Google’s own studies.
Just b/c it did not work for you is not indicative of anything.
“The reason” is not b/c advertisers are paying less for the channel, it’s b/c Google and Bing are stealing the money from us. It’s a clawback of earnings.
Mike Flynn says
i’d say those that do convert to sales are even better served with a few lines or pages of content. is no-brainer IMO (see figures above). but let’s not argue, is just different strategies after all.
Tim says
Content hurts conversions on parked domains Mike…..everyone in this parking business has known this for ten years.
I’ve been at it since 1995 and have seen first hand the power of parked and/or generic domains.
