World’s largest domain name registrar creates new logo with .co.
Domain name registrar Go Daddy has been a big supporter of the .co relaunch. It has tested promoting .co as its default search, tried lowering prices to match .com, and is partnering up with .Co Internet for its Super Bowl ad. It’s even teasing the media with a new GoDaddy.co girl that will be unveiled on Super Bowl Sunday.
It is also going to test changing its name to GoDaddy.co?
Last week the company filed an intent-to-use trademark application for a new GoDaddy.co logo. Yep, that’s .co, not .com.
My guess is that the company will use this logo in its Super Bowl commercial and/or on its site during the game.
In my opinion they could push it even further by setting up their website at GoDaddy.CO and redirecting GoDaddy.com to the .CO while airing the SB commercial.
Wow. Everyone is really getting into a .co frenzy.
Funny to watch.
Oh look honey!
Another stupid company that forgot the “m” in their ad!
ps Please register the .co typo version of as many of my .com domains as you like … build ’em all out … advertise the heck out of them … and I’ll thank you now for all the free traffic.
@Rob
It’s better to be in the game, to some degree, than sit on the sidelines. It takes the coulda, shouda, woulda, factor out of it. Diversification is the name of the game. These days, I’m seeing many people who put all their eggs in one basket being burned. It shows that it never hurts to have an open mind.
@Steve
The more traffic the better. .co is a “giving” type extension – don’t you think?
what a gimmick.
I am not a supporter of .co . But they got a heavy weight pushing it. And that might do the trick.
With this support, yeah i think i shoulda bought a few .co’s.
Time will tell.
The only .co I think especially worth owning would be co.co and only then if your deal was selling chocolate.
Imagine the fraud abuse available if uk.co fell in to the wrong hands. a lot of co.uk names getting very clever looking uk.co fishing addresses.
I do not personally see the value here.
