.nxt conference registration now available.
If you think you’ve heard a lot about new top level domain names over the past couple years, you haven’t seen anything yet. Next year we may finally see the opening — and perhaps closing — of the application round. Which means it’s crunch time.
Anyone interested in new top level domain names should consider attending the .nxt conference. Organized by former ICANN employee and journalist Kieren McCarthy, the event will take place February 9-10 at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco.
The agenda covers four main areas:
– Policy: The agreed rules and procedures behind applications
– Implementation: The practicalities of running a piece of the domain name system
– Models: The new approaches and ideas that we can expect with new Internet extensions
– Marketing: How to reach the billions of online users
Early bird registration is $395. Show organizers expect 300-600 attendees.

Should it e concerning that more people are expected to attend this than attend theaverage domain conference?
Andrew Allemann says
@ JP – well, I don’t know how many people will actually show up. But this is the only show covering all aspects of new TLDs, something that probably $100M+ will be invested in next year, so this should be a packed event.

Well then maybee when these hundreds of new extensions come out it will be good for domain conferences. At least more free pens and other garb 🙂

ICANN and as such he took the whipping from all the abusive and rightfully irate domainers over the criminal Registerfly fraud debacle several years back basically, when his hands were tied while he was the point man in a no win situation
dealing with a rogue registry.
I am sure with his diplomatic and articulate journalism skills he will fare well, in this
new conference venture.
