Two three digit domains sell for big bucks.

As an “expert”, do you have any predictions on what all those $20,000+ .COM owners will do when the same name appears in .CO ?
Aron - "expert" says
I predict, they won’t care one bit.

ditto Aron

I predict NNN.CO will soon be sold for at least X,XXX. The .CO extension is exactly the .CO, dropping th M. People move toward laziness; the less effort the better. Again, it is not moving toward a different extension (.mobi, .tv, .biz, etc.), it is merely dropping one letter. That fact and the amazing promotion of the extension will create wealth in the domaining industry as never seen before.
Jim Fleming says
Thanks!! .COM may evolve to be the only TLD ?
If the new DNS software quietly drops the need for any TLD and inserts .COM that may drive things in that direction.
If the large search-engine platforms (also called ad-engines) start to favor only .COM that could doom many TLDs.
If Paywalls Grow and “Islands” and the goal is to seize any chance to have a dialogue with the consumers, the .CO Fringe may stick around to be used in those Pick-One Screens.
(with ads of course)
By the way, other experts predict 3 scenarios:
http://igfusa.wordpress.com/2010/07/21/483/
A. Big Government (.COM would win that)
B. User Directed/Controlled
C. Chaos
Jim Fleming says
@Osy it sounds like you predict .COM will start to **imply** .CO[M]
In other words, when a list like the above is shown people will **assume** BOTH domains are sold as a unit. Would the Twitter name also be included?
The new DNS software could be changed to favor that. That would favor the big-money sites that can obtain and retain BOTH domains.
If the twin-domain unit is not found and verified, the resolution could be ??? with warnings or ad-driven choices for the users.
The .COM could pay to be the only choice?
The single-letter .C TLD allows all this to happen again ?

@Jim: Wtf? That looks like a transcript from the Glenn Beck show.

Many of these domains must have great traffic. Maybe these companies are looking for brandable domains. Underdog.com seems like a potential gambling, betting, sports or product-related website.
I don’t see how some of these domains are worth 5 figure or more. I would have to research them to determine their market value. Some are obviously valuable, while the others are questionable.

I’m curious to see whether 029.com will turn out to have been bought by zerotwonine.com.
On the other hand, nineeighty.com and nineeightzero.com are both available for a few thousand dollars from hugedomains.com, which boasts “Dot Com Only, No Numbers, No Dashes”. Proving that sometimes, numbers are worth more than letters!

people who think .co will be .com forgot to take their crazy pills. seriously though, please keep wasting cash so me and my pals can keep raking it in with .com.
