Get a conference pass before the price increases tomorrow.
I don’t always go around endorsing conferences. But if you’ve never been to a conference or if you’re on the fence about attending the Vancouver TRAFFIC conference next month, here’s my message: do it. But you should register today to take advantage of the $395 conference pass (the price goes up $200 tomorrow).
This may be the least expensive domain conference you’ll ever attend if you’re in North America. Let me break it down for you:
Conference pass: $395
Hotel (3 nights): $765 CAN including taxes and fees
Roundtrip Airfare (from NYC): $400
Add that up and it’s about $1500 plus a taxi for the entire trip. That’s cheaper than most people paid for just the conference pass at previous events.
On top of that, it’s Vancouver.
So if you’re on the fence, I think this is one you should go for. And if you make the trip, please let me know so we can connect there.
(No, Rick didn’t ask me to write this. I just think this conference will be a good deal.)

Vancouver is a great city with fantastic views…and yes Andrew you’re right, this price is too good to pass on…I also think the event will be a huge success…I’m Going!

I would go but I don’t want to be away from my twin 2 year old daughters that long. Hope everybody has a great time.
Thanks, Jim

My first domaining conference ever and frankly I’m very excited about it. Will be flying from Quebec to attend.
I’ve been silently reading this blog since day one of my interest in domaining and sure hope I get a chance to shake your hand in Vancouver Andrew.

It’s getting to where 80% of the attendees are vendors or bloggers. The vendors should start wising up.

I never really understood the point of domain conferences to be honest. The titans of the industry tend to only mingle with other titans. It is a shmoozefest.
If you want to really open up the market then make admission free. Let the vendors foot the bill. That is how many industry conference and tradeshows work.

At $ 395. Latona is not making any money from the registration.
Charging $ 395. elliminates the riff-raff.
Just a few examples.
1. Ones that owns a few domains or are thinking about buying a couple domains,
2. people that hate domainers.
3. salesmen who want to attend so they can sell something (printing, hosting, software, etc.) without being a sponsor.
Any domainer living in western CA., U.S. northwest or U.S. west coast should attend.
Airfare and traveling time is in their favor.
Also, the lower registratiion cost allows attendees to bring add’l partners, fellow workers or spouses.
I’m impressed that Rick is experimenting with the lower cost. Smart move.

@Brad,
I been to about 10 domain conferences, Traffic, DomainFest, etc. I have a great time.
You have some great points though. I think it was one of the affiliate CPA conferences that had free attendence and it was a success. I did not go but I heard about it from my friend
Bruce Marler who did go.
A good friend of mine who never goes to conferences, told me he rather save the money and buy a domain name and read about it on DNJournal.com. I get his point and can’t argue, he is very successful.
Personally, I will stick to 1 conference a year now to catch up and really party to be honest, example TrafficZ after party at DomainFest until 6AM after the playboy mansion party was well worth the money:)
Thanks, Jim
