ICANN sends termination notices to three registrars.
ICANN is terminating the accreditation of three domain name registrars for failing to pay their bills.
The three domain name registrars — Hosting365 Inc, OOO “Russian Registrarâ€, and R.B. Data Net LTD — each owe past due accreditation fees.
Hosting365 Inc owes $28,089.20 according to ICANN. Apparently there have been some disputes with the registrar and its owners in the past. Operating under the name Register365, Inc., the registrar has fewer than 1,000 domains according to RegistrarStats.com.
Russian Registrar owes $7,914.56 in fees. The registrar has only 252 domains under management.
R.B. Data Net LTD owes $34,952.84 in fees. The registrar does not appear to have any domain names under management.
ICANN is seeking registrars to transfer these domains to, but registrants would be advised to transfer their domains to other registrars immediately.
Although it’s good to see ICANN enforcing its accreditation agreement, it would seem that these enforcement actions should take place before a small registrar racks up $30,000 in past due bills.
