Arbitration canceled — and Hershey gets the domain name.
Hershey Chocolate & Confectionery Corporation has picked up the domain name Hershey.mobi. The company filed a complaint with National Arbitration Forum, but has canceled the arbitration and the domain is now in its control. It’s unclear on if the registrant of the domain handed it over upon receiving the complaint or if Hershey purchased the domain.
It will be interesting to see what, if anything, Hershey does with the domain. Earlier this year it announced it was shutting down its e-commerce operations. Hershey.mobi currently does not resolve, but could make a good mobile site for information about the company’s confections.
Incidentally, the company’s main web site is Hersheys.com. Hershey.com (without the ‘s’) is used by another company. Hershey’s doesn’t own Hersheys.mobi, either, but it doesn’t appear to have filed for arbitration on the domain.
Hershey has been an active user of domain arbitration, picking up domains ranging from MilkDuds.com to eHershey.com to ChocolateKiss.com through the process.
Looks like I will be removing Hershey Chocolate & Confectionery Corporation from my short list of end users to contact with regards to ChocolateBars.com. 🙁
Okay Andrew, lets review:
Hershey Chocolate & Confectionery Corporation
somehow just obtained:
Hershey.mobi.
But does NOT own Hershey.com.
They DO own Hersheys.com.
Buy do NOT own Hersheys.mobi.
I’m getting dizzy.
Anyone have any chocolate?
