Registrar launches new web site design with clearer navigation and design.
Domain registrar GoDaddy has redesigned its web site making it easier to use. The design has simple navigation controls at the top, less clutter, and a new left panel that shows the user’s products. Upon your first visit to the redesigned site there’s a quick tour feature.
The design carries over from the home page to the internal pages of the site including when customers log in. The domain manager, which allows users to make changes to their domains, has not changed.
At first blush the new design is a vast improvement over the old one. Some pages are still cluttered, and it would be nice if the site was more customized to the individual user when they logged in. For example, after logging in a lot of the screen real estate is taken up by a login box for webmail and calendar. If you don’t have these products, there’s no reason to take up so much real estate. I’m sure GoDaddy will continue to make changes over time.
The new site design is being rolled out to users in phases, so if you see the old site design when you visit GoDaddy.com just check back later today or tomorrow to see the new design (as pictured below).

I don’t like it or the new TDNAM design. The navigation bar in both are obnoxiously large.
Also, in TDNAM you now can’t check the radio button and hit the Enter key to delete a domain from the Watching page. You must scroll down to the bottom of the page to hit the delete button each time.
Totally bad design in that respect.

The look for new GoDaddy site is great. It’s trendy and sleek but with heavy graphics and java scripts which takes much more time to load than older layout.

My problem is much of the domain management system remains the same. I’ve never been a fan of godaddy’s clunky navigation and ease of use. I find myself routinely doing several steps that should be a one-step or two-step process. A usability study of users could help godaddy track down and correct some of these areas of needless complexity.

This site is horrible… it loads slow and with all the rollover pop-outs its annoying I am strongly considering moving to a new provider… at least the backend is still the same (for now)

This is just disgusting, what are they feeding the designers over there? Cluttered mess that is still Godaddy.com. Nice to see Bob spamming his self centered blog all over the layout as well.
