Marry.me, Kiss.me among domain names to be auctioned at this month’s TRAFFIC conference.
Following very strong results from its online auction of .me domain names, the .me registry will release the first set of withheld domains at this month’s TRAFFIC conference in Brooklyn. The registry withheld 2,500 catchy and generic domains to sell directly.
Among the domains to be auctioned include:
Love.Me
Buy.Me
Date.Me
Meet.Me
Ask.Me
Show.Me
Kiss.Me
Rent.Me
Watch.Me
Marry.Me
Loan.Me
Play.Me
The domains will be part of Moniker’s auction.
I have my doubts about .me and their value, which makes this auction all the more interesting and exciting. Will we continue to see five figure domain sales with .me? How will the big domainers respond?

Will there be a flowers.mobi moment?
I tend to doubt it but would be happy to be surprised.
Andrew says
Rob, that would be cool. But I have to think everyone’s head is a bit cooler these days.

They trying to go for the easy spec money like they did with .mobi in the past. That strategy might have worked in years past, but its not a strategy for today, its short sighted. The real downside is they decrease visibility and credibility of possible .com sales. The real test is if they get proper end-user .com sales made at this auction which is the reason for the commission. If there are no end user sale prices achieved at this NYC venue it will not reflect well on the marketing department. After all, they should be far better positioned to explain to end users the greater value proposition of direct navigation advertising (solicited advertising) compared to TV, radio, newspaper advertising (unsolicited advertising) in this dipping economy.

There is a long time I don’t pest about these live auctions 🙂
So let me get advantage you are speaking about these auctions to say the names that will do the auctions should have all been selected now for weeks!
It’s time where the auctionners should be actively promoting the names that will be auctionned, contacting potential buyers, … We already been informed, so ourselves we could also help promote our own names that will do the show.
Will not they get a generous 15% commission?
For what exactly?
Like allways:
No promotion, no advertising, … just waitting possible sales.
Porca miseria!
I am smiling but that’s so true.

Agreed, I am concerned at the lack of marketing for the New York show… mostly because I am trying to have my premium name included. It’s been 2 weeks and they haven’t even confirmed that In am in the auction let alone promoting my name ! grrrr
