Ryan Allis’ book should resonate with domain investors.
I had the good fortune to meet entrepreneur Ryan Allis at a retreat in Mexico last month.
Ryan is a successful entrepreneur who has built several companies to $1 million in revenue. He’s not a one trick pony who got lucky; he has applied his formula for success many times over. Oh, and by the way, he’s only 23.
Ryan is the CEO of the popular e-mail marketing company iContact, which does close to $1 million per month in sales. His books “Zero to One Million” from McGraw Hill releases today, and I recommend picking it up. It’s a blueprint to how he has started and marketed his companies. Given his experience with search engine marketing and affiliate marketing, this book should resonate with domainers.
Even better, Ryan is donating all proceeds from the sale of the book to his non-profit charity, The Humanity Campaign. The Humanity Campaign works to reduce poverty and hunger by increasing access to education, healthcare, technology, and entrepreneurial opportunity.
You can order Zero to One Million at Amazon for $11.53.

What I like about what he’s done is he built his email marketing company on just that: marketing. There are tons of competitors out there, but he managed to cut through the crowd and I think they’re #2 in terms of sales.
He also understands the importance of domains. The company owns iConnect.com too…seems there were some customer confusion/name recognition issues.

Thanks for the tip, Andrew. Do you know if the 2003 version is any different than the 2008 version? Amazon lists both – http://tinyurl.com/2vy4qb

Leonard, I think the 2003 was a self publish. Given that he was 18 back then, my guess is this version is much more insightful 🙂
