These are live results from Moniker’s domain name auction at the Grand Hyatt in New York City.
Accuracy notice: these results were captured in real time. Accuracy is not guaranteed. A price of $0 means the reserve was not met, estimated last bid not accepted in ( ).
Over $10M worth of domains sold in Moniker’s Live Auction, with much more to come in the silent auction. The big story today was also the bubble bursting for .mobi domains. Many .mobi domains didn’t sell due to very high reserve prices.

Domainer's Gazette says
on auctions where the reserve wasn’t met, would there be a way for you to list what the highest bid was?
would be interesting to see what type of offers aren’t meeting reserve limits..
great info though..thanks for sharing..
(God Bless Webmaster Radio for broadcasting this…)
Editor says
I just updated it with the reserve not met prices when I captured them. Take them as an estimate as it’s hard to hear.
Gil says
Any idea WHO bought creditcheck.com??
great coverage, it’s a big help for those of us who could not make it.
Editor says
I don’t know who bought the domain. I think he came only for that domain because he ran out the door as soon as he bought it.
Editor says
I should note CreditCheck.com included FreeCreditBid.com
Rob Sequin says
Thanks for the info. Good coverage.
Domainer's Gazette says
I’m gonna hang myself if this auctioneer says “Let’s start it off” one more time..
Ramiro Canales says
Thanks for the updates!
Joe Domainre says
Bubble burst??
How do you see a bubble burst?? There were huge bids placed on those .mobi names. Just because the reserves were not met, does not take away from the fact that scores.mobi had an offer of over 100k and pay.mobi had an offer of 45k. I see strong interest there.
I see no bursting of bubbles with the offers made on that auction for the .mobi names listed.
Tony says
Hi,
Great job on getting these results up so quickly and on your coverage of the TRAFFIC conference in general. I taped the auction and having listened to it again I can fill in some of the blanks in your data by giving you the highest bids for some of the domain names you weren’t able to provide such details on. They were;
Pedestrians.com ($7,500)
TattooParlor.com ($27,500)
Scores.mobi ($115,000)
Planet.com ($350,000)
Polling.com ($70,000)
EC.com ($250,000)
Ethanol.com ($600,000)
Vacations.mobi ($30,000)
Hospitals.us ($8,000)
Catalogs.net ($15,000)
Union.com ($185,000)
Stuff.com ($1,500,000)
Slots.com ($4,500,000)
PDA.net ($25,000)
CateringService.com ($15,000)
Elections.com ($600,000)
555.mobi ($7,500)
Text.mobi ($21,000)
ForbiddenCity.com ($20,000)
MP4Player.com ($15,000)
QR.com ($85,000)
The station went on an ad break at one point so I don’t know how high Draw.com, 62.com, InternetRadio.com or Commodities.com went.
Regards,
Tony.
Harry says
What a pitch. The highst bid for pda.net was $25,000.- and the “take home price” was $25,000.- too but the domain was not sold, because including the 15% commission the “minimum sale price” is $29,412.-
Harry
Rob Chandler says
Thanks for the great coverage! Wow, even two .info dn’s sold for 17,000. and 21,000!
Editor says
Joe Domainre: many of the .mobi bids made were below the posted reserve category, so these bidders knew there was no chance they would end up buying the domains. .Mobi’s still have value, but people will have to wait awhile to get a return on their money for most of the domains that have resold since launch.
Editor says
Thanks Tony! I have updated the reserve prices for those.

steven emery says
pimple for 85,500 can this be reality?
italiandragon says
I think some .mobi haters are just pathetics.
They wait every single little opportunity to just start all over the same arguments.
First they said it will never be worth anything that extension.
Then after hundreds of good sales , they just wait this auction to say that the bubble is bursting?
I just can`t read such BS anymore.

TOTAL: 101 UNSOLD DOMAINS OUT OF 218 DOMAINS.
Names as Scotland.com , SIX.com , 62.com , Commodities.com, Cats.com and more ARE UNSOLD.
So, please…..Domain Name Wire ….just be realistic: it`s not a .mobi bubble burst but rather you can`t exepct to find MILLIONS $$$ for every domain just because it is for sale. Who were the buyers this time and who were at the other traffic auctions? And plus you can`t expect that just a few bunch of investors or rich annoyed people that just want that domain is willing to buy all domains offered.
Maybe the whole industry should think how to move ahead and do not pretend to ask millions for everything without not even being able to explain who is going to be targeted as buyers, which domains are offered and why….plus so many other things that people don`t get to know because only the money seem to be important. Well, keep things this way and I won`t be surprised if the whole domain industry will implode pretty soon, not just .mobi
Have just a look at the reality.

The .mobi does not plateform just yet for video ads for your mobile phone. Though once it hits it will skyrocket. >mobi are just a play right now for the bigger investors, a buy and hold strategy, you can’t get any ppc money from your .mobi right now so prices are leveling off.. I mean how can you complain about buying a 60.00 .mobi and 4 months later you get offers in 5 digit range like I have, on at least 6 of the names…
>the .mobi is strong but is retreating a bit back which is good… He did not buy flowers.mobi because of mothers day.
We should all thank the editor for his work and views on this event.
