Anyone looking for a sign that 2006 will be a good year for domain investors need look no further than this week’s DNJournal sales chart.
The year started off with a bang as a two word domain FlashGames.com pocketed $226,950 at Moniker. Moniker also sold CancunHotels.com for $120,000. Sedo almost cracked 6 figures with its sale of CheapGifts.com for $90,000.
As I discussed last week, DNJournal changed the format of its charts for 2006. In addition to the regular top 20 chart there is now a country code chart and a non-.com chart. This week’s country code chart was headlined by Ich.de which sold for €40,000. Two .us domains made the chart: Good.us at $1,100 and Celery.us at $800. Is it any surprise that Sedo sold every domain on this week’s country code chart?
The non-.com chart (called “Global Contenders”) was led by Cetus.org at $4,750. That was a SnapNames expired domain auction. Sedo sold Alice.biz for €3,000 for the second slot.
