GoDaddy is now auctioning off its own expiring domains (see this posting). However, it appears they are placing a 60 day hold on all expired domains won at auction before the winner gets control. This certainly reduces its value!!
Since GoDaddy has more active .com domains than any other registrar, GoDaddy’s new expired domain system will send major ripples through the expiring domain market. With Network Solution and Bulk Register’s expired domains going to SnapNames, Dotster’s going to NameWinner, and GoDaddy’s going to itself, independent exchanges like Pool better start lining up some exclusive contracts!
Bob Parsons will be at Domain Roundtable in Seattle. I’m sure we will hear more about his plans there.
Leonard, if you’re going to the roundtable please try to get the scoop and get back to us!
