Rick Santorum lets his political future (of domain names) expire

Santorum lets a number of domain names expire.

[Update: the domain names were renewed shortly after this article was published. To whomever was in charge of renewing this domain: you’re welcome.] Is one time presidential hopeful Rick Santorum letting his political ambitions expire?

Santorum is letting a number of future-oriented political domain names expire.

The domains appear to have been managed by New Media Communications, Inc., a political marketing company.

Here are some of the domains that have expired:

RICKSANTORUM2018.NET
RICKSANTORUMFORGOVERNOR.COM
RICKSANTORUMFORGOVERNOR.NET
RICKSANTORUMFORGOVERNOR2014.COM
RICKSANTORUMFORGOVERNOR2014.NET
RICKSANTORUMFORPA.COM
RICKSANTORUMFORPA.NET
RICKSANTORUMFORPRESIDENT2012.COM
RICKSANTORUMFORPRESIDENT2012.NET
RICKSANTORUMFORPRESIDENT2016.COM
RICKSANTORUMFORPRESIDENT2016.NET
SANTORUM2018.COM
SANTORUM2018.NET
SANTORUMFORGOVERNOR.NET
SANTORUMFORGOVERNOR2014.COM
SANTORUMFORGOVERNOR2014.NET
SANTORUMFORPRESIDENT2012.COM
SANTORUMFORPRESIDENT2012.NET
SANTORUMFORPRESIDENT2016.COM
SANTORUMFORPRESIDENT2016.NET

The domains just recently expired and he still has time to renew the domains at Network Solutions. Otherwise they’ll be auctioned off.

Of course, Santorum has his official web site at RickSantorum.com. But given how his name has been played with in Google, he’s probably best off keeping a lot of defensive registrations.
